Now, I like my sauces. Ketchup, sweet chilli sauce, barbecue, sweet and sour sauce, Korean dipping sauce, vinegar, soy sauce, oyster sauce - you name it, I'd probably fall in love with it. In fact, I like sauces so much I always joke that I order fries, wedges, chicken wings or fish fritters to go with the sauces (the real joke is that it isn't really a joke).
Is there anyone who lives in Asia (or Great Britain for that matter) who doesn't like curry? Yes, there is - me. I have never been a fan of Chicken Curry, in particular, because most chicken curries that I have tasted are heavily laden with like 12 different spices, and I am very adverse to the taste and smell of too many spices all at once.
Remember I shared the little story of how my mum forgot to buy the crucial ingredient in making kimchi last weekend and we ended up with no homemade kimchi? (that snippet here Well, we have 2 big boxes of homemade kimchi in the fridge now! Store-bought Kimchi is so expensive and too sour for our liking, so my mum has been making it at home from scratch since close to a decade ago.
Last weekend, my mother was talking about making kimchi and even went out to the nearest supermarket to get the ingredients. Alas, she came home with all the ingredients but one - and the MOST important one at that! - the cabbage.
