Quick and Easy Spaghetti Bolognese

  This quick and easy Spaghetti Bolognese is the dish that started my cooking journey and I have been making this for about 14 years now since the first time I made it back in my teens. Before I sat down to write this, I asked myself why I never thought of sharing this recipe earlier and I came to the conclusion that I had always felt that it was too simple a recipe. But it is so delicious that it would be a waste not to share it so here I am and here you are.

Here is my recipe for Spaghetti Bolognese; I have cooked this endless times and am proud to say that I have perfected it to suit the tastes of everyone in the family and I am 100% sure that you and whoever you cook this for will LOVE it too.

Quick and Easy Spaghetti Bolognese

I use store-bought pasta sauce for this dish and while it isn't made "from scratch", it certainly saves me a lot of time. The entire dish is ready in less than 20 minutes and a plateful of it is usually slobbered up (it really makes quite a mess on the dinner table) in about 3 minutes or so by the kids. They also end up looking like the Joker at the end of their meal because they will have the red pasta sauce smothered all over their lips and beyond.

Spaghetti Bolognese really just makes for a hearty and satisfying meal that never fails to delight and even when you reheat it the day after it still tastes magical! If you want to free up some cooking time in the kitchen for the week, make a double batch of this recipe and store in the freezer for a quick, easy AND slurpilicious meal any time you feel like it.

Quick and Easy Spaghetti Bolognese

Prep time: 5 mins

Cook time: 15 mins

Total time: 20 mins

Serves: 4

 

Ingredients:

· Enough Spaghetti for 4 people

· 24oz Pasta Sauce (any brand)

· 1 pound Ground Beef

· 5-6 Baby Portobello Mushrooms, diced

· 4 cloves Garlic, minced

· 1 medium Onion, diced

· 3 tablespoons Tomato Ketchup

· 2 tablespoons Brown Sugar

· 1 cup Pasta Water, reserved

 

Instructions

1) Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions.

2) While the pasta is cooking, prepare the ingredients for the sauce by dicing up

the mushrooms and onion, and mince the garlic.

3)                                                                                                                                                            Heat up 3 tablespoons of Olive Oil in a medium saucepot or large skillet (use

one that has some depth) and saute the onions and garlic.                                           

4) Let the onions and garlic cook for about 2-3 minutes before adding the ground

beef.

5) Brown the beef before pouring in the pasta sauce and mushrooms.

6) At this point, I like to pour the reserved pasta water into the empty sauce jar,

cover and give it a good shake to reach some of the sauce that is still stuck onto

the sides of the jar.

7) Pour the water into the sauce that should already be bubbling at this point

and give everything a good stir.

8) The spaghetti should be cooked to al dente about now - drain it and set aside.

9) Add the brown sugar and ketchup into the pasta sauce and let the sauce cook

for 7-10 minutes before taking it off the heat.

10) To serve, pour a generous amount of sauce over the cooked spaghetti and

enjoy!
