A slow and sickly weekend

It has been a terribly long and miserable weekend with both my children and myself falling ill from the same virus, and my husband busy at work from morning to late at night. I had a list of recipes lined up to work on in the kitchen the past few days, but my lethargy has let me down and it most certainly doesn't help when my 2-year-old is chasing me around the house calling "mama, mama!", and requesting to be carried all the time. But I really could NOT not do anything and so I decided to start work again on a patchwork quilt cover that I had stalled on close to 10 years ago. All the materials for this quilt cover had been sitting in a box for nearly a decade and thankfully that particular box was sealed really tight so that dust had not done their damage on the cloth or rusted the sewing needles. It was exciting to see the work that I had done back when I was a teenager and that I had to continue working on now that I am at a different stage in life. Of course, it took me about half an hour to get acquainted with the needlework again but before I knew it I was at it again like I never stopped at all. When I am feeling better again (I hope in the next couple of days, at the very most), I will share photos of my patchworking project here on Kitchen Missus, as well as a brand-new recipe that I guarantee you will be itching to try (I have a long list up my sleeve). Thanks for visiting, and do check back very very soon! Kitchen Missus Signature
